That was such a cute scene. Jason, you're awesome.

He liked the bears. Big and furry and huggable-looking, but also pretty deadly. And Steve joked he was like a bear (Steve was a monkey), so they had kind of a special meaning.

Oh sweet, one I've actually thought about before that made it into my notes! Smoking is really pretty common in his world. He picked it up at age sixteen the way a lot of other dumb teenagers do, trying to fit in with other Marine kids his age. He has no real awareness that it's a harmful habit and at the time, once he got used to it, he found it actively helpful for keeping focused, keeping calm, reducing appetite - all helpful stuff while working on ships in some stressful situations on top of his general background anxiety/PTSD issues.

Addiction seems to run in his family anyway, his brother seems to also have a pretty serious drinking habit at times. Rosinante is aware he's addicted to them but only finds that troublesome when he can't easily get more and starts getting withdrawals.

How much inspiration do you take from actual Greek mythology when writing her?

ooh, really good question! not a whole lot when it comes to her actual history because hers especially is so far removed from the character she's based on, but i try to incorporate some of it when i have the opportunity (ie in how she reacts to certain things, she'd probably be a lot less scandalized by beacon than, say, cinderella).
