As always, it's been incredible to see just how much everyone has been willing to reach out to one another both in and out of character, and with a wide variety of new players (and new characters from old players) having joined us recently, there's sure to be a lot to talk about! CHARACTER INFORMATION

۵ CANON: les misérables, novel
۵ SUMMARY: a dumb dramatic cop from 19th century france. you all know him as that guy that hunted jean valjean for seventeen years because he broke his parole and stole. he used to be overly dedicated to his job, but he's a little bit less so now. he still has a huge boner for authority, though, and is really uptight and proper most of the time.

in beacon, he's the guy that runs the weapons training and first aid lessons at the gym. when he's not doing that, he's usually out patrolling and keeping an eye on what everyone else is up to. so it's very likely you've seen him around, lurking in dark corners.

۵ DESIRED CR: slow burn friendships, antagonists, sparring partners, people who can teach him about morality, religion, and feelings, since that's the next big step in his character development. i'm open to pretty much anything tbh.

۵ PLANS: he's a defender, and during the event, he'll primarily be protecting rosalind's lab and the invincible. long term, i just want to see him grow into a better person and have him care about other people. victor hugo wouldn't give him the redemption arc he deserves so i'm just doing it all my damn self.

i've seen javert around id i'd really love to figure out a way to throw matt at him! would he take a blind guy as a second on patrols? matt would have noticed he's doing it and could just invite himself, he's that kinda guy.

he sure can!! matt's a lot more competent than the last lawyer javert met so he can stay. it'd be pretty easy to figure out where to meet him since javert keeps to a pretty rigid patrolling schedule.

id id id id i'd like to be able to type omg, smh... i guess i was so excited i wrote it twice!

i have some real questions about the last lawyer javert met, if matt is more competent, BUT HEY. they sort of have similar mindsets, in that the law is important, except matt will go outside the law and punch people if he has to. it'll be a weird conversation if they ever get there.

sweet, that's perfect! he wants to do more but not be obvious about it, so glomming onto a patrol routine w Javert would be a perfect opportunity!

the bar is set so low. all matt has to do is go on a stakeout with javert and not tell the criminals that the cops are there and he will already be better than marius :')

that's honestly the whole reason javert started doing patrols in the first place. he needs things to do or he'll lose it. should we plan for something before the event or after? i don't have any posts but we could always inbox it!

Oh well then that’s valid. Is Javert ok with him going in first, punching them all out, and then letting him know he can come do the rest? JUST WONDERING FOR A FRIEND

Man I feel like I've been slacking for not getting Rosi to talk to Javert yet. I'd love to see how them meeting up goes since they both have the whole law enforcement background kinda sorta (look Rosi's a little fuzzy on where he stands with that, these days, but he's a good soldier lad truly). Maybe in this upcoming event they can do some Invincible-defending together but if not (as I'll be gone for a lot of the event and tagging time will be limited) then let's have them meet up elsewhere!

yes absolutely! not only are they fellow law enforcement, but javert would definitely want to talk to him about strategies and the world eaters. that could be a conversation they have after the event though, once javert sees him in action and asks about his background.

Yessss good. Yeah, let's definitely have them talk after the event. The clock is ticking down fast and Rosi will be pretty proactive about asking people to think harder about the big threat on the horizon too so one way or another it will definitely get brought up as a topic.

oh perfect! javert will honestly just be pleased someone else is thinking about it and not worrying about how to get out of here. lately he feels like he's the only one.

Poor Javert! He's definitely not alone but all the people doing the worrying seem to have been bad at actually talking to each other about that, haha. Time to change it!

me too!! javert actually has a surprising amount of empathy for bucky since he's experiencing a lot of the same issues. he's trying to help.

this conversation of them talking about feelings is so funny, it's like the blind leading the blind. one day maybe they'll figure out how to be normal people...

i can't wait for them team up during the event just so javert can be like "btw this doesn't make us friends!!! i still hate you!!" because he doesn't want crowley getting the wrong idea

I'm so pumped for this. I'm really ready for religious conversations to happen, cause Crowley needs to talk about this stuff with someone!

same! javert's only talked about religion with one other person, and they weren't christian, so he's still kind of lost on some of it. he'll be really interested to hear crowley's experiences, one way or another though.

we need to have these two spar because i feel like kol would not only pose a challenge for javert but maybe kol can learn some things! like how to fight without relying so much on his abilities.

talk about slow burn but i feel like javert is on the top of my list of people kol might confess he's a vamp to! watch this space.

he should! i don't think javert would even know what a vampire is because he definitely hasn't read any books about them. fiction isn't his thing.

they do definitely need to spar though! javert could probably show him how to fence if kol shows him some viking combat.

I would say "you poor soul, don't learn religion from Cas, he's not a good teacher despite being a literal angel" but that just translates to "hi, hello, would you like to learn religion filtered through a disillusioned, depressed angel?"

look it's his own fault for not going to church when he should have. now he has to learn religion from the worst people imaginable.

i don't know if cas peeps around in the church very often but javert's there sometimes looking awkward and lost. that could possibly be a jumping point for cr?
