Yeah, this dude STILL hasn't really opened up to either of mine, and they've been here almost as long as him :P

Soldat also has promised to go back down to the Helix station and try to negotiate with the last big spirit down there... and maybe kill more mimic spirits. They can do that together maybe? He's not exactly a science guy but he knows a fair bit amount the tech, at least.
