OH MAN okay so full disclosure, my taste in music is terrible/obnoxious and i basically don’t venture anywhere west of soho, so with all that in mind, some of my favourites include:

the 100 club (which is on oxford street and it tends to have some great shows. it’s also pretty fucking small)
I ASSUME U KNOW BRIXTON, but the o2 does have some rad bands play. i caught bikini kill there earlier in the year and it was basically the best night of my life am i exaggerating? who knows
moth club (hackney)
the bird’s nest (this is a pub south of the fucking river in deptford, but it rocks. it tends to have punk and metal bands, and they also do a banging sunday roast). unrelated to gigs but related to deptford: there’s a sweet coffee shop around there called the waiting room.
the shacklewell arms (hackney)
oslo (...also hackney. ftr, i feel i should mention that i actually don't live in hackney.)
new cross inn

there was the montague arms around peckham/new cross, but it closed this year sadly.
